Eskom and energy and chemical company, Sasol, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to "collaboratively explore and investigate possible long term liquified natural gas (LNG) requirements".
That is based on a joint statement by the two firms, following the signing ceremony from the MoU on Friday.
"The collaboration aims to find out the probable volumes that South Africa needs to ascertain a viable LNG import marketplace, combined with the enabling infrastructure, and will be facilitated by governing administration-to-governing administration relations where by vital."
